But lay up for yourself treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust doth corrupt, and where thieves do not break through nor steal: -Matthew 6:20 KJV
Where's your treasure? What are you doing to invest in long term security? Why not make sure your most important investments are guaranteed a great return!
Abba Father, I know that the only true security I can ever have is in you. Please give me wisdom as I seek to use my time, my talents, and my treasure to homor you and bring otheres to you. In Jesus name I pray. AMEN
...therefore will I play before the LORD. -
2 Samuel 6:21
David was ridiculed for his exuberance as he rejoiced with dancing at the Ark of the Covenant's return home. He refused, however, to be deterred by such criticism. This was a great day. His God was the only great and true God. He would celebrate before the Lord.
Lord God Almighty, full of grace and mercy, awesome in power and holiness, you are my joy, my hope, and my future. I rejoice in you as the only One, and the only thing, worthy of all glory, honor, and prasie. In Jesus' name I pray. AMEN
Thus did Noah; according to all that God commanded him, so did he. - Genesis 6:22
Noah was described as a righteous man, blameless in his generation, who walked with God and did all that the Lord commanded him (Gen. 6:9, 22). Can you think of a higher honor? I'm not sure what they will write on my headstone when I pass from this life to be with Jesus, but I surely would love to be worthy of what was said of Noah in this verse! How about you?
Holy God, I fully acknowledge that I am saved by your grace and not because of any great or righteous thing that I have done. At the same time, Father, I surely do want to hoor you with my life and show others the difference your loving kindness makes in the life of your children. Bless me please, dear Father, to be more worthy of this description of Noah. In Jesus' name I pray. Amen
SEE YOURSELF STRONG
The Questions for today: How do you see yourself; How does the devil sees you? How God sees you?
"And we were in our own sight as grasshoppers, and so we were in their sight." Numbers 13:33
The reason the Israelites were si terrified to fight the giants in Canaan wasn't because those giants were so big. It was because the Israelites saw themselves as so small! It was that they were in their own sight that defeated them.
The same thing is true for you as a believer. It's what you are in your own sight that will make the difference. If, in your own sight, you're a weak, powerless Christian, the devil will run over you three or four times a day or more if he's not busy. But when youbegin to see yourself as Good sees you, as a conquering son or daughter of the Almighty God, equipped with the very power of God Himself. the devil will want to steer clear of you.
Father God, help me to get so full of your Word that I see myself clearly as you see me - In Christ! Full with the mind of Christ, more than a conueror and totally loved and accepted by you as your son/daughter. Help me to see that I am a strong, conquering man/woman of God who is truly loved by you, In Jesus' name I pray. AMEN
